Itinerary

Day 1 : Welcome to Croatia
On your arrival to Zagreb Airport meet for transfer to hotel. Remainder of the day to get settled in before gathering in the evening to enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers and tour director.

Day 2 : Historic Upper Town of Zagreb
Zagreb, Croatia’s capital, is distinguished by its 18th & 19th century Austro-Hungarian architecture. At its center, Upper Town is the site of the twin-spired Zagreb Cathedral, various churches and the cafe-lined pedestrian Tkalčićeva Street. Lower Town contains the city's main square, Ban Jelačić, as well as shops, museums and parks. During a morning excursion of Upper Town see St. Mark’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, Parliament and Government Palace. Remainder of the day is for you to further explore at your own pace or take an optional excursion into the countryside.

Day 3 : to Bosnia & Herzogovina
Today depart south, leaving Croatia behind but soon to return, and head to Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This compact city is located on the Miljacka River & surrounded by the Dinaric Alps. Arrive to the hotel, check-in and time to relax before dinner.

Day 4 : Sarajevo & historic town of Mostar
Sarajevo has been influenced by a number of cultures and civilizations and during a city tour visit the Turkish bazaar “Bas Carsija”, Husref Bey’s Mosque, the Olympic Stadium and Gavrilo Princip Museum. Then it's time to take a trip through the mountains and along the gorge of the Neretva River to Mostar. Here you have a chance to view the remains of the Turkish quarter and the reconstruction efforts on the 16th-century stone bridge. End the day with arrival to Dubrovnik, the "Pearl of the "Adriatic".

Day 5 : Stroll through Dubrovnik
A walking tour shows you the highlights of Old Dubrovnik after which you have the remainder of the day and evening to stroll along the water's edge, do additional sightseeing on your own, relax and take in the picture postcard surroundings. The morning excursion includes the Rector’s Palace, Bell Tower Clock, Orlando’s Column and Sponza Palace as well as the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world.

Day 6 : Day trip to Montenegro (Bay of Kotor)
Today's excursion takes you into the Republic of Montenegro, to the mouth of the beautiful Bay of Kotor, the longest and deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Here delight in a boat ride to "Our Lady of the Rocks", one of two islets off the coast of Perast. The Roman Catholic Church is the largest building on the islet with a museum attached. On returning to the coast stop in Perast, a charming coastal town before making a visit of the city of Kotor. Evening at leisure in Dubrovnik.

Day 7 : Explore historical Split
Breakfast, check-out and depart from Dubrovnik to Split. Located on the Dalmatian Coast, it is known for its fortresslike complex at its center, the Diocletian's Palace. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings and within its white stone walls and under its courtyards and galleries are shops, bars, cafes, cathedrals, hotels and several houses. On arrival a city tour features the historic inner city around the palace and remnants of it’s Roman heritage, Jupiter’s Temple, Peristyle & Cathedral.

Day 8 : Via Trogir to Plitvice
After breakfast, head to Trogir, a center of artistic activities in Croatia where scholars from around the world gather here to study and paint. Then head inland and continue on the route to Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Day 9 : A full day at the Plitvice Lakes
A full day to enjoy the spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. A walking tour takes you around several of the lower lakes after which the remainder of the day is yours to continue to discover the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder at your own pace. With it's 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains this natural delight is sure to rejuvinate the spirit.

Day 10 : Plitvice to Ljubljana via Opatija & Postojna
The journey today takes you back along the coast with a stop at the beautiful bay of Kvarner and its popular resort, Opatija. An orientation tour will show off the highlights of this former Imperial resort city. Then head across the border into Slovenia and on to visit one of the largest caves in Europe, Postojna. Take a memorable journey through this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train. Evening free at leisure in the vibrant and friendly capital city of Ljubljana.

Day 11 : Day tour of Ljubljana & Bled
In the morning discover Ljubljana taking in views of the open-air Central Market, Baroque Town Hall, Robba’s Fountain, the Three Bridges and the Parliament. Then head to the Alpine city of Bled to discover the charming town, stunning lakeshore and imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above. Return to Ljubljana for evening at leisure.

Day 12 : Cross into Italy - discover Trieste
Head south to Trieste (Italy), for an orientation tour and visit to Miramare Castle and its lovely park, built by the Habsburg monarchy on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic Sea. After the visit continue on the drive to the romantic city of Venice.

Day 13 : St Mark's Square - Venice
A morning walking tour of Venice features the major highlights of St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, Bell Tower and the Bridge of Sighs. Also a visit to a glassblowing factory for a demonstration by a master artisan of this traditional Venetian art form. Remainder of the day is then for you to use as you wish; continue exploring around at your own pace, take an optional Gondola ride, sip a glass of wine at a sidewalk cafe ....  In the evening gather with your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner at a popular local restaurant to celebrate the completion of a wonderful vacation!

Day 14 : Departure from Venice
After breakfast transfer to Venice Airport for your flight home.
