Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in the City of Light, Paris
Meet on your flight arrival to Paris & transfer to hotel with remainder of the day then free at leisure to begin exploring on your own this famous & romantic city, the “City of Light”. In the evening a welcome dinner to begin making new friends and receive valuable information from your tour director.

Day 2 : Explore beautiful Paris
No visit of Paris would be complete without a morning excursion covering major landmarks of the city such as the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Trocadero, Invalides, the Champs Elysees, Place de la Concorde, the Latin Quarter, Pantheon and the Paris Opera. You then have the afternoon & evening at leisure to explore around further at your own pace. *Optional excursion to Versailles may also be possible, on request.

Day 3 : Discover the Champagne region
Depart to the Champagne region with first stop being in Reims and a visit of the famous Cathedral where 25 Kings of France where crowned; views of St. Remy’s Basilica; the Royal Square, and the March Gate. Continue via Hautvilileers, the Abbey where Dom Perignon first created champagne, to Epernay and its prestigious Champagne Avenue. Visit a champagne cellar for tasting then proceed to Nancy.

Day 4 : Strasbourg and Karlsruhe
In the morning explore Strasbourg, visiting the “Petit France” with its medieval bridges and canals; the historic center of “La Grande Ile”, and the Gothic Cathedral. Delight in watching the change of time on the historical Astronomic Clock. In the afternoon cross the border to Germany and a city tour of Karlsruhe, featuring the city garden, Ettlinger Tor, Baden State Theatre, Marktplatz and the Palace. Evening enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5 : Board River Cruise in Regensburg​
After breakfast, depart to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, with its charming medieval atmosphere. An unforgettable walk through the town will take you on a journey through bygone centuries. After some free time continue to Regensburg & embarkation with some time to relax onboard. A gala welcome dinner will help to put this delightful river cruise on a great start.

Day 6 : Medieval Regensburg
Begin the day with a morning walking tour of Regensburg, Your guide will show you the highlights of the city’s stunning architecture; view the Old Town Hall, Dom St. Peter and the Porta Pretoria, gateway to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 AD. Discover beautiful churches and one of the oldest stone bridges crossing the Danube. Return for lunch on the vessel and/or you could spend the afternoon discovering Regensburg further on your own. The vessel then sets sail at 3PM for Passau.

Day 7 : Bavarian town of Passau
Morning cruise arrives to Passau, a 2500-year-old Bavarian town with a mix of Roman, Italian Baroque & Gothic architecture, cobblestone streets & a riverfront promenade. Here you have the morning to explore on your own or join on the optional full day tour to Salzburg. (The walking tour of Salzburg includes some of the most historic sites such as Mirabella Palace, the Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, St. Peter’s Cemetery. After lunch you would then have some free time before returning to the vessel). If you choose to remain on the boat, continue sailing during lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing on board.

Day 8 : Benedictine Abbey of Melk
In Melk enjoy a morning guided tour of the historic Benedictine Abbey, one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. Provides you with the opportunity to view the Abbot’s chambers, the Kaiser’s walk and the lavish library. Return to vessel and cruise through the scenic Wachau Valley as we make our way to Vienna. This evening you may wish to take the opportunity to attend an optional concert performance featuring the classical masterpieces of Mozart and Strauss.

Day 9 : Vienna, the "City of Music"
This great city has captivated visitors for hundreds of years. Drive along Vienna’s main boulevard, the Ringstrasse, lined with with magnificent Baroque palaces, parks and monuments. View the lavish Hofburg Palace, the impressive Vienna Opera House, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the Parliament building. In the afternoon you could relax at a café sampling the famous Viennese Sacher Torte, or join the optional afternoon tour to the Imperial Schonbrunn Palace visiting the opulent baroque apartments and manicured gardens. Evening set sail for Budapest.

Day 10 : Along the Danube to Bratislava
Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as you sail along the Danube. Around noon arrive in Bratislava and walk along the cobblestone lanes of the historic town center; view St. Martin’s Cathedral, the coronation site of the Kings of Hungary, the 13th century Old Town Hall and the Franciscan church. You then have time to further explore on your own before sailing on to Budapest.

Day 11 : Buda & Pest = Budapest
A morning tour takes you to both the Pest & Buda sides of the river. On the Pest side view the Parliament, City Park and Heroes Square. Then cross over and on the Buda see the Royal Palace, Matthias Church and graceful medieval architecture along the cobbled streets. The afternoon is free for you to explore shops and cafes on your own. Evening enjoy a lavish Captain’s Dinner on board.

Day 12 : Time to say farewell
Breakfast then time to bid farewell to your fellow travellers, transfer to Budapest Airport. Disembarkation ends by 09:30.
